Daily Inspiration for 28 May 2019 – Proverbs 22:6

Dear brothers and sisters,

Today I want to encourage you with the words from Proverbs 22:6 (NIV):

6 Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.

As parents we have a really big responsibility towards God, but also towards our children. God has entrusted us with the important task of raising our children according to His teaching. We have to make sure, with the help of the Holy Spirit, that we raise and teach our children in such a way, that even when they are older and not living under our roof anymore, that they remember the (good) teaching we provided them while they were younger. We really need the Holy Spirit to make sure that we provide them with the right teaching according to God’s will, so that they also will be able to see what is from God and what is from this world.

Daily Inspiration for 27 May 2019 – Luke 1:46-47

Dear brothers and sisters,

Today I want to encourage you with the words from Luke 1:46-47 (NIV):

46 And Mary said: “My soul glorifies the Lord 47 and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,

We need to let the Holy Spirit work in our lives to be able to grow closer to God. But also to make sure that our soul more and more glorifies God. We are unable to this by our own strength, but really need to have the guidance of the Holy Spirit. God help us to grow in our faith, so that our soul rejoices you!

Daily Inspiration for 26 May 2019 – Proverbs 23:25

Dear brothers and sisters,

Today I want to encourage you with the words from Proverbs 23:25 (NIV):

25 May your father and mother rejoice; may she who gave you birth be joyful!

I believe this verse should be seen in two ways. First, in respect to our earthly parents and secondly (and most important) in respect to our relationship with God. Even when we leave our parents house, it does not mean that we can just do anything we want. The Bible clearly states in this verse, that our father and mother may rejoice in us. This is not limited to the time that we life in our parents house, but also when we stand on our own feets in this world. Make sure that with everything you do, that it also may rejoice your parents.

If you do than you also make God rejoice in you. But this verse is also meant in the relationship between God and you directly. In this world, more and more we are taught that we can do whatever we want to do, as long as it makes us happy. This is of course untrue and not in line with God’s teaching! Make sure that when you are doing something, or planning to do something, that you also bring it in prayer before God, to see if it also rejoices Him. If it does, than it will surely become a blessing in your life!

Daily Inspiration for 1 February 2019 – Psalm 3:2-6

Dear brothers and sisters,

Today I want to encourage you with the words from Psalm 3:2-6 (NIV):

2 Many are saying of me, “God will not deliver him.” 3 But you, Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high. 4 I call out the Lord, and He answers me from His holy mountain. 5 I lie down and sleep; I wake again, because the Lord sustains me. 6 I will not fear though tens of thousands assail me on very side.

Are we also not living in a time in which people are sinning against God, by claiming that God does not exist and/or cannot deliver you from a challenge in your life? Yes, we are. But through these verses we can rest on the fact that we can come to Him and get rest, knowing that God will take care of us.

Daily Inspiration for 30 January 2019 – Exodus 15:2

Dear brothers and sisters,

Today I want to encourage you with the words from Exodus 15:2 (NIV):

2 “The Lord is my strength and my defense; He has become my salvation. He is my God, and I will praise Him, my father’s God, and I will exalt Him.

It is very important to not only understand God’s power, but also to give Him continiously praise for all He has done. You should never take God for granted and ackonwledge all He has done, by praising Him.

Daily Inspiration for 29 January 2019 – Zechariah 4:6

Dear brothers and sisters,

Today I want to encourage you with the words from Zechariah 4:6 (NIV):

6 So He said to me, “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘not by might nor by power, but my spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty.

God makes a clear distinction between power and mights and His Spirit. The reason He does this, because we power and might are things from ourselves, or which we can mistakenly see as from our own. However, as soon as we start trusting on our own works, than we can really be surprised. Because we need God in everything we do and the only way is through the Holy Spirit.

Daily Inspiration for 28 January 2019 – Philippians 3:10-11

Dear brothers and sisters,

Today I want to encourage you with the words from Philippians 3:10-11 (NIV):

10 I want to know Christ – Yes, to know the power of His resurrection and participation in His sufferings, becoming like Him in His death. 11 and , somehow, attaining to the resurrection from the dead.

This week we emphasize in my blog on knowing God. I even believe we first need to know and understand God, before we can start to understand ourselves. To understand God we need to start learning about both His power and His suffering, so that we be more able to go through our own life much better.
