My view – Enjoying the storms
Dear brothers and sisters,
Today I got in on my heart to talk about the storms in our life’s … in my life. I also mentioned this subject in my Daily word of 31 January 2015. Me and my family are still going through some rough storms, and there have been enough time that we let them get the best of us, but this is not in line with serving our God (the only and the Almighty God!). God showed me even that He wants us to enjoy the storms? Why? Because then we acknowledge that we are not servant/slaves to our circumstances. That we also acknowledge that God will never let us fall, but will allow for us to become better to learn from those storms. But also to take those time to love God even more that He is getting you through it and to help you grow!
The basis for this ‘My View’ is Matthew 8:24-28, which says:
24 Without warning, a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. 25 The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!” 26 He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm. 27 The men were amazed and asked, “What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!”
See how Jesus did not the storm determine His mood or how He spend His time during that storm. God wants us to fully bring all worry and problem to Him and to rest under His wing. And enjoy all that God has and is still blessing you with. And it is through that more and more I learn not to be influenced (just like my family is going through the same progress, Amen!) by any storm and to enjoy your life and be close to God.
I pray that you all will learn to enjoy all times, so also the times of storm. God is getting out and protects you also during the storm!
I love you God and I trust on you to bring us through the storm to the other side of the lake, where the blessings are awaiting us!
