Daily devotional for 2 September 2017 – Isaiah 46:9-10

Dear brothers and sisters,

Today I want to meditate with you on the words from Isaiah 46:9-10 (NIV):

9 Remember the former things, those of long ago; I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me. 10 I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say, ‘My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.’

Realize how mighty and superior God is. Never think to little of God or too highly of yourself! Trust on God to do what is best for all including you!

Daily devotional for 29 August 2017 – 1 John 5:19-20

Dear brothers and sisters,

Today I want to meditate with you on the words from 1 John 5:19-20 (NIV):

19 We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one. 20 We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is true by being in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.

In these verses God lets us know that we should never underestimate the level of control of the devil in this world. But luckily it also reconfirms the fact that we are children of God! And with this we also know that Jesus Christ is real and really died for our sins and by this we also know that we can rely on the fact that he is the true God and eternal life.

Daily devotional for 8 August 2017 – Philippians 4:13

Dear brothers and sisters,

Today I want to meditate with you on the words from Philippians 4:13 (NIV):

13 I can do all this through him who gives me strength.

Speaking for myself I used to think that I was able to do alot through my own strength and abilities. But in the last years God has really humbled me and showed me that in fact on my own I can do nothing. All I am able to do is by Him and the strength that He gives me.

I know how easy it is when you have it easy in school and at work, or because for others you have enough money or just the right looks (of whatever makes you think you can do it own your own). But I found out, from the moment I thought that I really had it made and was in control of my life, that it was all an illussion. God really doesn’t like it when we exalt ourselves, because than it will also mean that we will put Him lower. I have God forgiveness for this (this arrogance). God showed me and is still showing me that I need to to trust on Him fully. As we speak I am still in that learning process. God is teaching me to trust on Him to put my trust on Him in everything I do, have and want. If I want to chance, than I need Him. If I want circumstances to chance, I need Him. If I want my health to be ok, I need Him.

WE ALL NEED HIM! KNOW THAT IT IS ONLY GOD THAT GIVES YOU STRENGTH. EXALT GOD, NOT YOURSELF!

Dear brothers and sisters,

Today I want to encourage you with the words from 1 Peter 1:3-5 (NIV)

Praise to God for a Living Hope

3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, 5 who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.

Praise God by having full faith in Him!

Daily word for 3 July 2017 – Hebrews 12:14-15

Dear brothers and sisters,

Today I want to encourage you with Hebrews 12:14-15 (NIV):

Warning and Encouragement

14 Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord. 15 See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many.

God will always warn us, because becoming a Christian doesn’t mean that you have no obligations. God demands from you to life in peace and make a lot of effort for it. To life holy. But also to keep your eyes open that others are not falling from grace. Know that being a Christian comes with responsibilities.

Daily word for 20 June 2016 – 1 Peter 3:16-17

Dear brothers and sisters,

Today I want to encourage you with the words from 1 Peter 3:16-17 (NIV):

16 keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander. 17 For it is better, if it is God’s will, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil.

Make sure that your behavior is according to God’s will. In that case, the people that want to think bad about you will always be ashamed sooner or later, because their lies about you will always be proofed to be wrong.
