Today we will meditate on the words from Psalm 136:1 (NIV):
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good. His love endures forever.
This week we are meditating on the importance of giving praise to God. Today I want to stand still on this and ask you to go into prayer and first thank God for everything, but also to open your mind to all that God has and is doing for you.
Their is also another reason why God asks you to give Him praise. Not just, because He very much deserves it, but also because as soon as we do this, then we start remembering all times that God was there for us in our lives. And this realization will also help you in new challenging moments in your life. Because now you will enter those challenges with the knowledge that God is always there for and with you and that you will know that God is also there to guide you through that new challenge!
Today we will meditate on the words from 1 Chronicles 16:8 (NIV):
8 Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name; make known among the nations what he has done.
An important part of our (daily) life should be to honor God. First, because God deserves all praise for who He is. But also, because of all that God does in your life. If you take the time to meditate on all that God has done and is still doing in your life, then you should start to realize on how big God’s impact on your life really is.
It is easy to just live your life and forget to do the above. The big risk in this way of living is that you fail to see how active God is in and for your life. Yes, maybe you are currently in difficult situation in your life and giving God praise is not the firs thing on your mind. But even in that situation is is important to meditate on God’s work in your life. Just imagine how that difficult moment in your life would be, if God wasn’t there with you? To be that is a scary thought. Yes, I have been through difficult times and those moments were definetely not easy, but every time that I was strong enough in faith to meditate on God’s presence at those moments, I quickly began to see how God was actually there with me and making the situation bearable and that He was actually shaping you through that time, but also actively working to move you out of that situation!
Today we will be meditating on the words from Colossians 3:16 (NIV):
16 Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.
Although we like to be preoccupied with so many things from school, work, media and what not, however is this the right way to life you life? No, for God to lead and bless your life, then you need to make sure that your life, body and mind are also willing to accept God’s leading and blessing.
The way to bring your life into the modus where God can and will do amazing work, is to make sure that you feed your life with His message and let it continuously dwell in you. The more you will allow this, the more you will see your life changing.
I want to ask you to make time every day (in joy) to read your Bible, listen and sing Christian songs and pray to God. By doing so, you will not only do it to honor God, but you will also do it to enrich your own life!
Today we will meditate on the words from Hebrews 12:28 (NIV):
28 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe,
Amen. In this world, we might sometimes feel that the world is changing and attacking so much that we might feel shaken. God however knows how the world is continuously changing (and not in a good way) and how the devil is attacking us (well trying to, but failing because of God), so God gave us this verse in Hebrews.
When reading this verse, we will start to understand that we should never put our focus on either this world or our circumstances, because these two things are always changing. But what we also know that the only (and therefore also most) constant factor in our life is God. God never changes. This is such a comforting truth to be realizing. So, in everything that you do, please feel and know that God is the basis of your life.
Today we will meditate on the words from Colossians 3:17 (NIV):
17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
We need to look at the way we spent our days very differently, when we are Christians. We might consider certain things not really important for us and decide to not give it all of our attention. This could be for a certain subject at school or at work or something totally different.
Of course, you might tell yourself that it was no problem, that you did not attend to a request from a smaller client. However, when we read the verse above, we will come to the realization that we need to be aware that everything that we do, we need to do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus.
So, when start realizing this commitment that you have towards God and not so much to your employer or teacher. This will help you to get through your work day a whole lot different. Yes, you might not really like it at your current job, but that won’t allow you to do a sloppy or bad job there. Know that you are not working there for that employer, but to give honor to God.
And if you change your way of thinking and working, then God will also bless you with a better place of work. Why? Because you showed to God, that although you didn’t like the place, but that you gave it your best, because you wanted to honor God!
Today you and I will be meditating on Colossians 2:6-7 (NIV):
Spiritual Fullness in Christ
6 So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, 7 rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.
Follow these two verses as the guidelines on how to live your life everyday! I pray that we will grow more and more closer to God and that our lives will reflect our love for Him, by living according to His word.
Today we will be reading and meditating on the words from Psalm 100:4-5 (NIV):
4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. 5 For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.
This whole week we are emphasizing on God’s love and our thanksgiving. It is important to always and every day, to show God how grateful we are and how much we love Him. So no matter what you are doing at any moment, always make sure that you are also giving thanks to God at that moment. Because even at that specific moment God is working in your life and bring blessings for you! Also know that Gods love is beyond anything that we can comprehend and that He will not stop loving you, not even in your darkest hour. That in itself is all the reason that you need to give Him thanks every moment of everyday!
Today we will read and meditate on the words from Colossians 3:15 (NIV):
15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.
Amen! Thank you God, that in this sinful world, that we know where we can peace. Only with you! Thank you for blessing our hearts and minds and bringing your heavenly rest and peace over us. That we are not rocked by anything from this world, but that we may continuously experience your peace in our lives!
Today we will be blessed by reading and meditating on 1 Corinthians 1:4-5 (NIV):
Thanksgiving 4 I always thank my God for you because of his grace given you in Christ Jesus. 5 For in him you have been enriched in every way—with all kinds of speech and with all knowledge—
Amen, if you need any reason to start thanksgiving towards God, then you must read and meditate on these two verses. God gives so much grace to us, even to the extent that we honestly don’t deserve it. But that is God’s grace for you! He will do more for us, than we deserve, because of His amazing love for us!
God bless you for all that you do today that will be a blessing on to others. Today we will read from Psalm 95:1-2 (NIV):
1 Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. 2 Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song.
These are two verses that are quite confronting to me.
These verses show how we need to be active in our faith, especially with worshipping and praising God. Now, I don’t have any problems with doing this, but if you read these two verses carefully, then you will see that we need to do it abundantly. And to be honest, that is not really in my nature. So this means that if you have the same, that we need to really be aware of this and ask God to take everything away that will stop us from praising and worshipping Him abundantly, because he deserves this!
