Today I want to encourage you with the words from 1 Peter 1:3 (NIV):
3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
The Bible shows us in this verse how God and Jesus are always connected. You cannot seperate them. It is only through the fact that Jesus died on the cross for our sins, that we are able to receive God’s grace. Both are so important so that they both are more then enough reason to give them both all the praise!
Today I want to encourage you with the words from Joel 2:12:13 (NIV):
12 “Even now,” declares the LORD, “return to me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning.” 13 Rend your heart and not your garments. Return to the LORD your God, for he is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love, and he relents from sending calamity.
These verses show again how amazing our God is! These verses are a call for you to always return to God. NO matter what may have happened in your life, God is always there for you and He is so compassionate. He will not accept your sins, but He knows that we are living in a sinful world and that we can fall into sin. But out of His compassion and grace, He will not be angry with you, but out of His love for you He will welcome you back in His arms, the place where He always wanted you to be in the first place. This is why God began these verses with telling us that we need to return to Him with all our hearts, with fasting, weeping and mourning. He therefore expects us to come to Him with a repentant heart and also in a way that we also give Him all the praise!
Today I want to encourage you with the words from Joshua 10:25 (NIV):
25 Joshua said to them, “Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Be strong and courageous. This is what the Lord will do to all the enemies you are going to fight.”
Some people claim that you became a Christian, because you want it easy. while the fact is, that being a Christian doesn’t always mean that you will have it easy. That is why God wants us to be close to Him, to listen to Him. And when you do , than you will be able through the Holy Spirit to be really strong an courageous and then through God your enemies will indeed be defeated! Amen!
Today I want to encourage you with the words from Isaiah 40:29 (NIV):
29 He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak
When you are going through a time of trouble, than you can rest on the fact that God gives strength to the weary and gives us power. When you are going through something difficult, make sure that you go before God and ask for His strength!
Today I will encourage you with the words from Philippians 4:13 (NIV):
13 I can do all this through Him who gives Him strength.
This week the devotionals center about God being our strength! And He truly is. Never think that there is any situation that God cannot help you out of. Because for God nothing is too hard or impossible for Him!
Today I want to encourage you with the words from Proverbs 18:10 (NIV):
10 The name of the Lord is a fortified tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.
I believe this verse is a very confronting one. Why? Because it tless us that that the righteous will run to God and wil be safe. When the first place you will go for help and answers isn’t God, than you should really question yourself how righteous you are. Pray to God and ask Him to bring such a love for God, that He is the first that you will go to for help!
