Daily Devotional for 30 November 2017 – Galatians 3:28

Dear brothers and sisters,

Today I want to meditate with you on the words from Galatians 3:28 (NIV):

28 There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

We tend to make difference between groups of people, based on e.g. race and religion. However in the verse above God makes it very clear that He does not make any difference between us. To God we are all one in Christ Jesus. If you think you can be both a Christian and a racist … You are wrong! God hates it when we make difference between groups. Don’t think that God thinks you are better or worse than others based on e.g. race. Certainly in a time in which especially racism seems to become more and more part of life. It is not based on the Bible, but based on your own sinful nature! Stop racism! Do you want God to see and judge you differently just because you have the “wrong” etnicity?

Dear brothers and sisters,

Today I want to encourage you with the words from Galatians 5:24 (NIV):

24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

In this world we are pushed to give into all our desires. Although a desire or passion in itself isn’t bad, the ones that the world pushes on us are. The closer you grow to Jesus, the more Jesus will let His passion an desires take control of your life. God wants us to be led by God and not by our own desires and the closer you grow to God, the more you do not have any urge to go for those worldly and sinful pleasures.

Dear brothers and sisters,

Today I want to encourage you with the words from Ephesians 2:10 (NIV):

10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

This verse shows how important it is to fully trust on God. Not only are we His creation, but he already prepared all good works we are to do in our lives. If you do good works, you do the will of God for your life and He will guide you from begin to end to make sure it will be good!

Daily word for 17 April 2016 – Romans 3:23-24

Dear brothers and sisters,

Today I want to encourage you with the words from Romans 3:23-24 (NIV):

23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.

These verses show clearly that we should fully rely on God and not expect or think that we are going to enter Heaven by our own actions. No, God knows that we are all of sin and will always fall short of His glory, therefore He sent Jesus to die on the cross for our sins, so we can enter Heaven by His grace!

Dear brothers and sisters,

Today I want to encourage you with the words from Ephesians 3:20-21 (NIV):

20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.

God deserves all our praise and worship as He is continuously at work in our lives realizing all even the impossible (to our earthly mind). Also know that you can bring everything before God as He has the power to immeasurably more than we ask! Don’t limit God in your life, but let Him work fully! He knows best!!

Dear brothers and sisters,

Today I want to encourage you with the words from 1 John 3:8, which says:

8 He who does what is sinful is of the devil,1 because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God2 appeared was to destroy the devil’s work.3

When we decide to sin, we always do so with our own knowledge. So never think that sin just happens to you. No, we make a decision to do so. And for this reason God consider us to be of the devil when we sin. Keep close to God and grow closer to Him everyday, so that your sinful nature will not be your guidance anymore. Let God destroy all works from the devil!

Today I want to encourage you with the words from Ephesians 1:3, which says:

3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,1 who has blessed us in the heavenly realms2 with every spiritual blessing in Christ.

Even with all our faults and sins we can still rest on the fact that God loves us very much and is more the willing to get us of any wrong path in our life and bring all His spiritual blessings on our life.

Dear brothers and sisters,

Today I want to encourage you with the words from Hebrews 13:1-3, which says:

1 Keep on loving each other as brothers.1 2 Do not forget to entertain strangers,2 for by so doing some people have entertained angels without knowing it.3 3 Remember those in prison4 as if you were their fellow prisoners, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering.

As Christian we should do our best to always be good to others and treat them like brothers. Just imagine that that person you did not treat right was an angel? Also if you expect help from God, then God also wants to use you to help others.

Today I want to encourage you with the words from 1 John 2:25, which says:

25 And this is what he promised us–even eternal life.1

Know that any promise that God makes, He will keep it. God has promised us internal life, so we can rest upon the assurance that God has given us. Come to God and follow Him in faith and know that you will have eternal life!

Dear brothers and sisters,

Today I want to encourage you with the words from 1 Corinthians 15:20-22, which says:

20 But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead,1 the firstfruits2 of those who have fallen asleep.3 21 For since death came through a man,4 the resurrection of the dead5 comes also through a man. 22 For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.6

Jesus became man to die for the sins that were started by us man. How great is God to sent is only Son to die for our sins. This shows how much He loves us, to make such a huge sacrifice. Always remember what God / Jesus has done, as this should give your more and more desire to life by His word.
