My view – Beauty and sexuality

My view – Beauty and sexuality

Dear brothers and sisters,

Thank you for reading this new blog in the “My view”. In this blog I will be talking about beauty and sexuality and what the Bible tells us about this subject. Nowadays the media (and society as a whole) has a very distorted view on what beauty and sexuality are and should be.

As a Christian we are luckily thought by God what beauty really is. First of all God created all of us in His image. This means that although someone may not look like the media or society wants, but that does not mean that someone is not beautiful. God made everybody with a desire for someone else. God wouldn’t put a desire for another person in you, if He did not also put someone on earth as well that considers you to be beautiful.

But according to the Bible when we focus on beauty then we should look at the innerbeauty as well. Because we can look like a supermodel, but if we lack beauty on the inside, then we are not beautiful:

1 Peter 3:3-4:

Do not let your adorning be external—the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear— but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God’s sight is very precious.

Also as a man we should not only look to the outer beauty of a woman (the other way is also applicable). In Proverbs 31:30 we read:

Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.

So when we are looking for beauty, make sure that (as is normal in the world) you don’t only look to the outer beauty, because it can be so deceitful and make that you make a wrong choice in the relationship you enter in. Know that God has already determined someone to be your husband or wife. If we follow God, then you will know when that someone enters into your life, because the Holy Spirit will let you know … this was exactly what happened when I met my wife.

So please don’t allow the devil to use the media and current society standards to determine what beauty is, because it seems that the more a woman shows with her clothing the more beautiful she is … while the beauty is very much in how we are and act. Don’t sell yourself short, because you are very valuable to God!

I find it very important to address this part of beauty as well. Our children are thought a very sick and demonic way to look to sexuality. In their schools they are already thought when 12 years old that they need protection when having sex. Schools are not even teaching them to hold themselves from sex until married … no, they are just informing them to do it safe. In the media they see how sex is just for everything and can be used as a weapon (show nudity to get a man to do what you want). Also, our children see music videos and programs telling and showing them that they should were “sexy” clothing and show their breast and butts. For them it becomes normal to dress very sinful. They don’t even see it as sinful anymore. That is why we should teach our children that it is very wrong to see sexuality according to the world, and we need to teach them sex as the Bible tells us how we should see it. Never let your children go out of the house dressed in a way that brings down the respect with which people will look on them.

Also in marriage we should makes sure that our sexuality is only for our spouse. If not, then it can be very bad for the marriage:

1 Corinthians 7:3-5

The husband should give to his wife her conjugal rights, and likewise the wife to her husband. For the wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does. Likewise the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does. Do not deprive one another, except perhaps by agreement for a limited time, that you may devote yourselves to prayer; but then come together again, so that Satan may not tempt you because of your lack of self-control.

We should only give ourselves sexually to our spouse and never even let any else come near our spouse.

Genesis 2:24

Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.

Nowadays being married is not so sacred anymore as homosexuals want that same right, while marriage by God is made for a man to marry a woman. Also nowadays the world looks down on marriage and wants us to not commit or even life a life with a lot of bed partners. But God makes is very clear that we are made to be for 1 man (when a woman) or vice versa.

Please keep on praying for our children that their view and opinions on sexuality, beauty and marriage is always based on Gods word. The world is actively trying to corrupt them, but luckily God will not allow that!

God bless you!

My view – Natural hair

My view on natural hair

God bless you all!

As I mentioned in my last ‘My view’ my wife is born in Ghana. As a black woman she has been confronted with a discussion that is still ongoing to this day: natural hair versus weave/wigs.

Going natural is not something that everyone just understands and accepts. Even for her taking the step to go natural with her hair took her some weeks of doing research on it and how she can take the best care of her natural hair. After that period she finally took the step and see did the ‘big chop’ (see part of natural hair journey: How I coil my TWA kinky hair ) which means that she cuts of her hair and losing the hair that has been straightened.

She is now really loving her natural hair (and I even more!), but she can’t wait until it has grown longer. She loves this length, but she knows that when it is longer she “rocks” it even more.

Now my view on natural hair:

I love it that my wife made the decision to go natural and no longer to straighten her hair and use weave and wigs. I love her natural hair and she looks even more beautiful now with her natural hair then she did before. But also I believe that God wants us to be natural. The first part on which I base this is a favorite Bible verse of mine: Genesis 1:27

27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and femalehe created them.

This verse already makes it very clear that God loves very much and knew exactly how He created each one of us. If people don’t like something about your appearance, then it is your problem, but never hide or change something on your body. God made every sort of hair in His image as well, he loves African hair just as much as the hair of any other race on this earth. So never feel that you have to wear a wig with European style hair, because God made every woman beautiful with her own hair, and as I mentioned earlier, my wife’s hair looks far more beautiful then any weave or wig she has worn.

In 1 Corinthians chapter 11 God also tells us that the beauty and the glory of a woman lies in her hair. God doesn’t want man to have long hair, but for a woman He gives glory in her long hair. My wife loves to have her natural hair grow longer, because God has put that desire in her. But also this chapter makes it clear that the glory is in HER hair, so not in synthetic hair or hair from someone else you bought!

God bless you for bringing my beautiful wife in my life (and my fantastic 3 children as well of course!) and giving her glory and beauty with her natural hair.

Alex’ view – Racism is a sin

Alex’ view – Racism is a sin

Hello my brothers and sisters,

I ask God for blessing us today as and will continue do this as He always does! Today I got it on my heart to touch on the subject on racism. As I am a Christian I will follow Gods guidance in everything so also this subject.

This subject is one that we are faced with more and more. In the general way, because how much closer we come to the end time, the more people show intolerance towards one another. And that tolerance more often or not is associated with racism. But we are also faced with this subject because my wife and I are an interracial couple (I am a Dutch guy and she is a beautiful Ghanaian woman). Not everyone agrees with our choice and sometimes you see the surprised looks and sometimes also angry looks (or even angry comments). But also I see how for example the African and Afro-American woman are being faced with racism just because of the fact that they are dark and female.

I pray to God that people will stop being racist and intolerant towards each other. Even when we don’t agree with the choice of someone else (e.g. homosexuality is a sin, but that does not justify us to be hateful and racist towards them. Homosexuality is not more a sin then other sins (with the exception of insulting the Holy Spirit). God will judge us on our sin (all our sins!) so we don’t need to do that. But to come back on the subject. Racism is wrong and God makes it very clear in the Bible that He does not allow it and considers it a sin!

In the Bible I found some verses that touch this subject.

Romans 10:12 (NIV)

12 For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile–the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him,

In This verse God lets us know that He sees no difference between people. He makes it known very clearly that he is the Lord of all of us, so he doesn’t exclude nobody! He only wants us to call on Him so he can richly bless us!

1 John 2:9 (NIV)

9 Anyone who claims to be in the light but hates his brother is still in the darkness.

As Christians God will not accept us to be racist or judgmental to others based on race (or even sexual preference) and makes it know that although we might think we are in the light, as long as we hate our brother then we will still be in the darkness. So racism is a sin and it is a sin that can cost you entering heaven! Stop hating others just because they have another skin color!

John 13:34 (NIV)

34 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.

This is a very beautiful verse as it shows that we need to love others as we are loved by God! He even asks us to love other the same way. Again, God makes no distinction of any kind. So we cannot choose who we will love as ourselve!

And I want to close this “Alex’ view” with the following verse

Genesis 1:27 (NIV)

27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.

God made us all in His own image! This verse is in the beginning of the Bible and God makes very clear that everybody is created to His image. If we sin by being racist then we are actually attacking God and calling His word to be incorrect. And God never makes mistake!

To be clear homosexuality is a sin according to the Bible so God did not create people as gays. That is a lie of the devil! The devil wants us to believe that people are born that way, but God is not gay and cannot have created homosexuals, because that is not a creation in His image! But when we are begin racist to someone that is gay, then we are also sinning. Let God deal with everybody and their own sins!

There are lots more verses about this subject and I hope that you will all go deeper into this subject with God!

God bless you all!!

Alex’ view – What is wrong with Noah?

WhatsWrongNoah (1)

Alex’ view – What is wrong with Noah?

Hi brothers and sisters,

Thanks for reading this first ‘editorial’ of mine. When I first heard of a new movie about Noah I was really thrilled. So recently I got the chance to watch it with my wife and I was really shocked what I was watching. Everything that you see and hear you should always be able to test it with the truth in the Bible. And before watching this movie it is very important that you read the real story in the Bible first as is it clear that the devil really tries to mislead people to take the truth of Bible and twist and lie around it! So I pray that you (not only with this movie) always ask God to let the Holy Spirit guide you and let you see the truth.

When watching this movie so many lies came:

  • Noah was helped by “watchers” that were in fact fallen angels. Noah was chosen by God to be saved from the flood, because he was still righteous in a time that the world was very sinful! To put Noah to work with fallen angels is such a lie, because that means that Noah wouldn’t be righteous. But even more important: Noah was the only reason to not fully stop mankind from surviving and that would make God make a human error. And God does not make mistakes!
  • At the end of the movie the watchers get into heaven, because of their good deeds. Fallen angels are cast to hell, so their judgement has already been given by God. After we receive the judgement over our lifes, that will not be overturned as we see with earthly judges. God is a supreme judge and His “ruling” is made once and without error.
  • In the Bible it is very clear that Noah, his wife and his three children with their wives were on the Ark. And what do we see in the movie? Only the oldest son goes on board of the Ark with his wife. What happened to the wives of the other 2? And the oldest gets to girls, implying that somehow the other brothers would eventually make families with these to girls?
  • The grandfather of Noah is Methusalem and in the movie he is made a sort of sorcerer that helps the wife of the oldest son to not be barren anymore. First of all only God can make a wife that is barren to get pregnant. Making him a sort of sorcerer is again an attempt to bring the devil into play as a sort of saviour which he is not!
  • Also Methusalem dies in the flood. So, you would ask, does it matter? Yes it doest matter, because his death is very significant. Almost 1.000 years before the flood mankind was warned for this judgement of God, so we as mankind had almost 1.000 years to repent and change! So if people call God a cruel God because of the flood, then they are mistaken and false! The reason that Methusalem is so significant, because his name in Hebrew means: “if I die it starts”. God made sure that he received this name, because on the day Methusalem died, the flood would start. So the devil lied in the movie by letting him die in the flood and not before it!
  • The father of Noah, Lamech, was killed, while in the Bible it cleary states that he died at an old age. If he was murdered the Bible would have mentioned it!
  • In the Bible Tubal-Kain is indeed mentioned as a descendent of Kain, but in no way he is part of the flood story, but all of a sudden he is part of the movie. Not only is he portrayed as a sort of protector of mankind with his speech before his people, but also he ends up on the Ark to kill Noah. What? God was very clear in the Bible who was on that Ark. Putting someone on the Ark from a bloodline (Kain) that was not blessed by God is giving honor to the devil and not to God. The bloodline of Kain was an important reason that the flood came, because mankind was very wicked in that time.
  • The movie makes it seem that the time that Noah was ordered by God to build the Ark and the time the flood came was within a few years (the youngest son in the movie was only about 8 years), while in the Bible it clearly states that it was 150 years!
  • Also Noah made all effort to convert people and get them on the Ark, but the people made fun of him and rejected Gods mercy! In the movie however it is portrayed as if Noah made sure that other people got no chance to get on the ark. False and a lie of the devil, they got all the chances!
  • In the movie the snake gets a very big share of the attention, both in a the part where the animals board the Ark. Why a special part where only snakes (and lots of them) board the Ark other then to give attention and praise to the devil? The maker of this movie knows the significance of the snake in the Bible and I believe he did it to show alliance to the one he serves and that is not God!
  • Also when a blessing is passed the descendants of Adam (also Noah) use the skin of the first snake, satan, around their arm. This is such a big lie, because this would imply that they are not blessed by God, but by satan. This is such a hideous lie
  • At the end of the movie the 2 baby girls of the oldest son of Noah are blessed by Noah and after it a rainbow appears. When reading the Bible you will soon see that this is also a huge lie although when watching the movie you would maybe not make much of it. But in the Bible it says that Noah came from the Ark and his first action was to build an altar and to give a sacrifice to God after which God made a covenant with Noah that He would never judge mankind by a flood and as a sign he made the rainbow appear as a sign of that promise.
  • Also in this movie no praise is given to God and  Noah is portrayed as a very wicked person. Both are very wrong and lies.

I ask you not to watch this movie (by preference), because it is made to lie to us and give people the wrong information to try and get them away from God. But God will never fail! Please always read Gods word to test everything you see and hear in life. If it is not in line with the Bible then its wrong!

God bless you all!
