Bible study on Acts of the Apostles – Chapter 4
Dear brothers and sisters,
In the Bible study on the 4th chapter of the Acts of the Apostles I will discuss:
- Peter and John before the Sanhedrin
- The believers pray
- The believers share their possessions
Peter and John before the Sanhedrin
And again the priests clearly show how they were actively working for the devil. They had Peter and John arrested, because they were talking about Jesus’s resurrection from the death. Because it was the end of the day they let them be put in prison to be judged the next day. The next day they had to explain before the Sanhedrin why they healed the crippled man. This is really demonic! That you have to explain why you have healed someone with the authority of God! They also remember them that they have crucified Jesus. Because both spoke with the Holy Spirit, the priest did not know what to say. Compared to these priests both Peter and John were uneducated men, but still the priest had nothing to bring in against them. So let the Holy Spirit guide you in any conversation and even the “smartest” “most educated” critic will be defeated by the Holy Spirit!
They wanted to punish them, but because the crowd was very impressed and amazed by their healing, the priest could not punish them. Also they ordered them not to speak about it, but the Lord will never be silenced. Please ask the courage of the Holy Spirit to never be silenced about God!
The believers pray
After the encounter above Peter and John went back to their friends and told them everything. They worshipped and thanked God for this amazing action asked God to heal in His name. At that moment they were all filled by the Holy Spirit!
The believers share their possessions
This part of Acts 4 is very important as it shows that as Christians we have an obligation to take care of each other. See how they sold all their possessions to take care of each other. Don’t think you can life in riches and not help out your fellow Christians. When God put in on your heart, please help out each other!
